  • Course Description:

    This course is an approach that covers all aspects of wildlife conservation and at the same time exploring background scientific knowledge and ecological concepts applied to the conservation of endangered fauna and habitats of Saudi Arabia with an emphasis on practical skills.

     

  • Course Main Objective:

    The primary aim of this course is the development of graduates who can:

    1. Acquire a critical understanding of the scientific, technical, and regulatory bases of conservation ecology and wider environmental issues
    2.  Apply these skills to specific environmental problems, and also communicate effectively with both those working in the field of Ecology and Wildlife Conservation and with the wider public.
    3. Carry out independent investigations in the area of conservation ecology and environmental science
    4.  Explore the political, financial, and social forces that underlie wildlife conservation and environmental management.
    5.  Inform and advise best-practice in conservation, management and policies of the fauna of Saudi Arabia by carrying out practical work in the landscape around the protected area in Saudi Arabia.
    6.  Acquire a range of transferable skills in science laboratory practice, computing, data analysis, report writing and project management as a basis for professional activity and development which may be applicable in other career areas.
