About Zoology:

Zoology is one of the basic Natural Sciences disciplines that studies the animal kingdom. Zoology devoted to study the structure, classification, embryology and distribution of animals in their ecosystem. It also include both living and extinct animals.  

 About the program:

The program is designed to establish essential knowledge of the animal kingdom. Also, the program aims to equip students with adequate skills in animal conservation, designing and performing basic experiments and techniques in zoological laboratories safely and effectively. Finally, this program enables graduates to join labor market and/or continuing research studies in Zoology and in Public Health. 

Program's mission: 

Preparing a distinguished graduate with scientific background and personal and community skills, and providing a pioneering and sustainable educational and research environment.

Program Educational Objectives:

PEO-1: Develop leadership skills and knowledge through a life-long learning and stay up to date with modern technology and scientific progress. 

PEO-2: Effectively lead, work, and communicate in teams, and function professionally in their field of specialty to fulfill sustainable development of Saudi society.

PEO-3: Engage in professional development and/or graduate studies to pursue flexible career paths amid future technological changes.

Student Outcomes:

The Zoology program adopts ABET 6 general-criteria outcomes for the ANSAC Commission as:

  1. An ability to identify, formulate, and solve broadly defined technical or scientific problems by applying knowledge of mathematics and science and/or technical topics to areas relevant to the discipline.
  2. An ability to formulate or design a system, process, procedure or program to meet desired needs.
  3.  An ability to develop and conduct experiments or test hypotheses, analyze and interpret data and use scientific judgment to draw conclusions.
  4. An ability to communicate effectively with a range of audiences.
  5. An ability to understand ethical and professional responsibilities and the impact of technical and/or scientific solutions in global, economic, environmental, and societal contexts.
  6. An ability to function effectively on teams that establish goals, plan tasks, meet deadlines, and analyze risk and uncertainty.
